Our “Athletes to Authors” program helps student athletes on high school track teams by giving them free track shoes in exchange for their essay on historic minority figures & accomplishments. The essays are compiled into books to help the school team fundraise. The schools participate in an annual relay invitational track meet.
The Poetic Archive program encourages students to write a poem about a person in history that inspires them.
Participating students receive complimentary passes to a high profile Track and Field competition, plus a Team LMio Tshirt. Their poems are featured, along with a three sentence bio, in a book archived by each school year. The Poetic Archives program fundraises for each school’s athletic program.
