Community Program

Poetic Archives

The Poetic Archive program encourages students to write a poem about a person in history that inspires them.

Participating students receive complimentary passes to a high profile Track and Field competition, plus a Team LMio Tshirt, and their poems are featured, along with a three sentence bio, in a book archived by each school year.

The book will be used to fundraise for the school’s athletic department. Students are writing themselves into history by becoming authors at such a young age and making a positive impact on their community. Students are also being introduced to the world of Track and Field.

This year’s high profile Track and Field competition is the famous MtSAC Relays happening April 20th, 2024. We greatly thank MtSAC for partnering with us to make this happen for all the students. Parents get in FREE with their student. Follow us on instagram @TeamLMio for exciting updates!

To ensure each poem is uniquely written about a different person, the student is required to make their selection from our list of diverse options.

Special Thanks to our Sponsors and Partners!

Success Story!

Over 140 students from Lorbeer Middle School in City of Diamond Bar, California participated in the writing portion of the Poetic Archives program. This means Team LMio Foundation changed over 100 middle school students into published authors and introduced them to the world of Track and Field. The city’s Mayor visited the school to congratulate the students. Parents and students received passes to Mt.SAC Relays and met Track and Field stars.

Thank you Pomona Unified School District Superintendent Darren Knowles, Principal Carlos Aguirre, History Teacher Mrs Crutchfield, Community Member Linda Perez, and all participating students, parents and sponsors for your contribution to help create the book Poetic Archives Volume One – Lorbeer Middle School.
